A little slice of heaven in New England

The New York Times has reviewed our area. Sounds like an AWESOME! place to live!

The kind of place one can pick up a nearly $400,000 house “on a lark!” The best part, though, is here:

Indoors, bistros throb with live Latin jazz, stylish women browse in designer T-shirt shops, and markets teem with enough cuts of sablefish, flounder and char to rival any big-city grocery.

W. T. F.

That’s like, three stores in Hanover, and maybe — maybe! — one in Lebanon, and that’s in a strip mall. I mean, I like living here and all, but this is insanity. Granted, the article is targeted at the second-home market (come on! it’s not all loutish Dartmouth grads! Harvard people are kind of welcome too!) but still, it’s a bit of a stretch to connect the wacky semi-sophisticated semi-trashy area I live in with the pristine wonderland depicted in that piece.
