Tree Collecting, 2006
On Saturday, we went out with went out with a few friends to cut Xmas trees. Previous to the actual chopping of trees, Alyssa and Colin hosted brunch at their place, where we were joined by Ellen (briefly), Emily, and Erik (and the dog, Tikka). This was our second year of following this path — there’s a “draft” lurking in the memory of this blog that I never posted last year! — and it continued to be fun this year.
[Update: Found the old photos and post, and they are now live. Take a look!]
One reason, I suppose, was the fact that Isaac went for a short ride on Tikka:
This year, we collected trees down in Meriden, NH. Since we’re zipping off post-Christmas for some time in NYC and Philly, we stuck with a small tree:
And placed it in the newly bookish family room:
So far, the cats have nearly drained the water reservoir and knocked off one ornament. Isaac’s run by it three times (by my count) and only paused to attempt to rip something off once. So that’s a good start!
(By the way, any one of those photos will click you into the full(er) photoset from the choppin’.)
